Weronika Rafa is an award-winning designer and creative director with over a decade of industry experience. She develops brands and design systems across multiple platforms, from print, through digital, to motion. In her career she has worked with clients big and small from all parts of the globe. This includes some of the world's most reputable companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook and Adobe.

Weronika's aesthetic draws on her background in graphic design, typography and art, elevated by bold storytelling. In design she's most excited about what’s weird and unusual within the sector and the wider world. This curiosity is currently pushing her towards typographic (ugly-ish) posters and creative coding inside the design process.

With over 60K social media followers she constantly looks for new expressions and has recently welcomed the role of an industry speaker.

Uncertainty Playground

Uncertainty Playground at London College of Communication considered how design can define, address and make meaning from the ambiguities and uncertainties that we currently face. The viewers could discover 4 exhibitions and collateral events that explored the role of design research and practice in imagining, critiquing and shaping potential futures. Uncertainty Playground was part of London Design Festival.

For this identity Grafa worked closely with the Dean of Design. We decided to adopt a multimedia approach based on the words and research papers submitted before the event. These composed a background to all the assets on top of which a layer of information was placed.

Possible/Probable Worlds deconstructed the ideas behind Joseph Voros’ ‘Futures Cone’ and proposed a range of possible futures through interactive installations; S*PARK explored eco-social futures and imagination through community and collaborative design interventions at Elephant Park and LCC, while FutureMakers created a platform for debate around making and using uncertainty as a form of enquiry within the context of a co-created makerspace. The viewers could enter Room 2084 to discover a living archive, stimulating discussion around how and why we preserve the past and present for future generations*
